Monday 22nd July

The recent storms in the Farne Islands had created a lot of damage on the path between the Sunderland Hole and the Longstone Lighthouse so the Trinity House enginners came out and completely re-laid it and have done a wonderful job.

We were pleased to meet the lovely Lola who came out the Lighouse with her humans. it was her first time on a boat and she really enjoyed it! The dolphins are showing well and the pufflings are putting in an appearance with the guillemot chicks jumping daily.

Huge thanks to our wonderful customers who have been placing great reviews for us andsending us fabulous pictures. The oneothe right is from Ian Woods of Alnwick Gin  so we are looking after him!

Tuesday  18th June

Well I can't believe it's a month since I sat down to write the last blog. Huge thanks to you all for your support and the great reviews. Lots of people have sent in pictures to the Facebook page and this is so appreciated. We had twenty foreign students come to vist us with Lundgren Tours and they all had a great time. Here's Rob from Lundgren with Chris and Steve before we set sail.

The Dolphins have been showing really well and all the boats have had excellent sitings. The terrible wind and rain not ony stopped us from sailing but also caused havoc on the islands with many tern and puffin chicks being lost. We've also include a picture of Oscar as he was the star of Facebook and became quite a celebrity after his visit to the lighthouse! I can't believe it was a year ago that Alexander Armstrong came to see us either. Take care now everyone.

Tuesday 14th May

Well it's been another busy week. The high winds caused huge swells making landings on the island impossible so for health and safety reasons we had to cancel the Sunset Cruise. We had some great dolphin sitings on Wednesday and another George, the lab,  came out to see us!  The puffins and terns have arrived back and are pairing up. Some guillemot eggs have been spotted and our swallows are back in the lighthouse. The construction works in the harbour are still going on and this can cause a bit of congestion around the booking office so do allow a bit of time for parking etc.

We had a visit from the lifeboat when they came out looking for some missing kayakers.  The Discount Vouchers have arrived. Please contact us if you need any!

Take care everyone.

   Sunday 5th May

The highlight this week was Oscar coming to see us with his humans but we also had a bit of a problem when the fog suddenly rolled in. The Trinity House engineers went home on Tuesday and we've been trying to get our Discount Vouchers sorted for distribution to all our B&B/Guest house/caravan site owners.   Most of this week will be taken up with advertising our first Sunset Wildlife and Photography Cruise for this year which leaves at 6:45 this Friday May 10th. Full details are on the Sunset Cruises page on here.

Masibe thanks to Sarah O'Dowd, Elizabeth Batty Taylor and other people for sending us pictures we can use on here and on our Facebook page this week.  Finally we had a bit of a shock when one of our passengers, John Hare, took a shot of Steve and George. It's funny to be on the other end of a lens! See you next Sunday!
